Vases-1

BIO

Ted is a Colorado-based potter whose one-of-a-kind vases embody both artistry and meditation. Each piece, often taking days or even weeks to complete, reflects a moment in time — a quiet dialogue between clay, emotion, and the artist’s hands.

By day, Ted is a devoted middle school teacher whose compassion and encouragement have inspired countless students to discover their own creative voices. His classroom is a place of patience and possibility, where young artists grow not only in skill but in confidence.

By night and on weekends, Ted retreats into his studio. There, his passion takes shape in clay, forming vessels that are as personal as they are striking. Every vase is a creation arising from what he feels during that time — making each one unique and meaningful— drawing you into to the distinct designs, textures, and quiet energy that seem to live within his work.

Yet, in Ted’s eyes, the vases are not “special.” To him, they are a form of release — a meditative practice where he unwinds, reflects, and creates without expectation. For years, his creations stayed tucked away in storage or placed throughout his home. Only recently, with encouragement has Ted begun to share them.

Now, his vases invite others into that same quiet joy. Whether holding flowers or simply inhabiting a room, each piece carries a presence that resonates differently with every person. Some say they feel an energy in his work — but above all, Ted hopes each vase becomes a source of beauty, stillness, and connection for those who welcome it into their lives.
